Dead Calm

Dead Calm is a suspenseful thriller starring Nicole Kidman and Sam Neill as a married couple who decide to take a sabbatical on their small yacht after suffering a tragedy. During their travels they meet Billy Zane, a sociopath who appears to need help. Once the unsuspecting couple allows him aboard, their lives will never be the same.

The cast carries the film superbly, and their onscreen chemistry crackles brilliantly.

The story’s tension is so great, viewers will find themselves unable to breathe.

The movie was filmed on Hamilton Island and the Great Barrier Reef in 1989, with director Phillip Noyce at the helm. It was based on Charles Williams’ 1963 novel, Dead Calm.
